Victor Indrizzo

Victor Indrizzo was born 1967 on Long Island, New York. At a young age, he was going to sleep with a metronome every night. This came in very handy when punkrock bands got signed by major labels and a lot of drummers weren't able to play to a click track, so he got a lot of ghost jobs. 1999 he started playing with Beck, which proved to be really helpful education: getting to play to a lot of loops and with great musicians. He then became a sought-after session and live drummer, songwriter and producer – went on to share the stage or the studio with Willie Nelson, Avril Lavigne, Seal, Alanis Morissette, Lizzo and countless others.

A bit of shuffle

He was inspired by Stevie Wonder's early 70s records as drummer, trying to listen to what the song is telling you and always play off the vocalist and the lyrics. Nowadays he is based in LA, but occasionally gets booked in Nashville, too. He's brilliant when it comes to pop beats with a bit of shuffle and his timing is simply excellent. He brings extraordinary hi-hat and ride sounds to a session as well as interesting percussion instruments.
